We’re Back Baby!

Hello everybody!

Sorry it’s been so long! My spring semesters are always fuller than my fall or January ones. Especially towards the end.

Anyway, as a reward for everyone being so patient, I’ve decided to release a story set within the same universe as the previous one and with the same characters. That’s right! We’re returning to the world of the Modern Monster Hunters! This time we get to see more of the cultures of this world and the prejudices that arise from living in a world where some monsters can look and speak like humans.

Check out the first Modern Monster Hunter story here: Killing the Dead

As always, please leave constructive commentary, talk about what you like in the comments section, and spread this to all your friends and social media pals! Hopefully I’ll be a bit more active over the summer and as a special treat, I’ll put up some trivia tomorrow. Thank you all and I hope you enjoy the story!

Killing the Dead

Hey everyone!

As promised, another short story! Sorry its so late, I’ve had a lot on my brain lately. Anyway, this story is actually the first in a series of short stories taking place in an alternate reality. On this alternate Earth, life experienced an explosion of diverse adaptations soon after the last Ice Age. The cause of this has never been found, but the result is that the monsters of mythology on our world have become real on this alternate Earth. The catch? All the monsters are “scientifically plausible,” meaning there is no magic.

As a result of these monsters, humanity has had a very different history. To  combat these creatures we developed The Hunters, elite fighters for hire whose sole purpose is to find and kill any monster threatening a human settlement.

Now, fair warning, even though these aren’t expressly adult science fantasy pieces they do mention or bring up topics or parts of life that one might usually find in Young Adult novels aimed at the older end of the demographic. So, if you are uncomfortable with blood, mature moral quandaries, or mentions of certain natural bodily functions, this series may not be for you.

With that warning out of the way, I hope you enjoy this story! Please comment your reactions or critiques below and subscribe if you have not done so! Now, on with the story!

Trivia: Seven for the Data-lords in their halls of code

Here’s something a bit more technological than the other trivia pieces. ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is an organization responsible for assigning numerical internet address to websites and storing said numbers in a massive database to help add another level of security to those websites. If someone were to gain control of this database, they could essentially rule the web, and if something destroyed the database it could essentially shut down the web. (But that’s not the trivia tidbit, only the build up.)

The Princess and the Guard

Short story time once more!

As per usual, please share, comment, and subscribe if you have not done so. If you share this, please credit me.

This story may one day get expanded upon or given a part two or worked into a novel of mine in some way. I’m not quite sure yet. The fight scene in this still needs some work, but hopefully you can follow it well enough. Warning: this story does contain some blood, violence, and gore, in case you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.

Without further ado, I hope you enjoy this story!
